Special Process Engineer

Following significant expansion, a sector leading manufacturer of complex components supplied to the aerospace, defence and high technologies sectors has a new vacancy for a Special Process Engineer to join the team. Playing a key role within the quality department, you will develop the company’s quality management system and candidates are sought with a good understanding of special processes gained within a complex engineering environment.

The Role

Provide guidance to the company and its customers on product definition and process acceptance criteria.

Work with all stakeholders on developing new specifications and processes.

Review new and revised customer requirements for the control of special processes and ensure requirements are recognised in the QMS.

Conduct internal audits of the special processes.

Distribute QMS documentation ensuring only approved documents are used.

Gain knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and methods.

Support quality related core activities including audits, corrective actions, etc.

Monitor progress against key engineering milestones and intervene when necessary.

Contribute to continuous improvement, colleague training and enhancement of processes

Develop technical solutions and communicate any changes through clear, well-presented reports.

The Person

HNC / HND or equivalent in an engineering subject.

Good understanding of some special processes. (NDT, heat treatment, etc)

A working knowledge of aerospace standards & Nadcap processes is advantageous (not essential).

Ability to comprehend engineering drawings and specifications.

Competent user of Microsoft Office software in particular Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

Ability to work as part of a team and with all levels of the organisation.
